Muneeza Rizvi is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. She received her PhD in Anthropology from the University of California, Davis. Her research focuses on Islam, humanism and securitization, with a particular focus on British Muslim involvement in the Syrian conflict. She is currently a contributing editor for the American Anthropologist and a volunteer proofreader for The Abolitionist. Her work has appeared in Al Jazeera, ReOrient and the American Journal of Islamic Social Sciences.
