Iyad Hilal holds a Master of Arts degree in Islamic Law and Islamic Legal Theory from Kulliyat-al-Shari'a (Imam Muhammad ibn Saud University) in Riyadh. He has lectured and written on various topics related to Islamic law and Usul al-Fiqh for over 30 years. He is also the author of: Al-Mu'ahadat al-Dawliyya fi'l-Shari'ah al-Islamiyyah (International Treaties in Islamic Law) (1991), Studies in Usul al-Fiqh and Abhath al-Sunnah al-Nabawiyyah (Studies in the Sunnah of the Prophet) (forthcoming).
