Dr. Haitham al-Haddad is an Islamic jurist and scholar based in the UK, currently serving as the Chairman of the Fatwa Committee of the Islamic Council of Europe. Having studied under the guidance of renowned scholars for over 20 years, Dr. al-Haddad specializes in various Islamic sciences, including Fiqh (Islamic law) and Usul al-Fiqh (principles of Islamic law). Dr. al-Haddad holds a PhD in Islamic law related to Muslim minorities from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. His research focuses on developing theories for Islamic law in the 21st century. He is a frequent contributor to academic conferences in the Muslim world, sharing his views on contemporary Islamic thought. He has served as a judge on the Islamic Sharia Council (UK and Ireland) for 15 years, and continues to advise numerous Sharia councils across the UK and Europe.
