Dr Kamal Hussain holds a PhD in Islamic Studies with a specialisation in Minority Jurisprudence from SOAS. He holds a BA in Arabic and an MA in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from SOAS. He was an adjunct lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London from 2007 to 2015, teaching Islamic law and other Islamic studies subjects. He taught the LLB course Islamic Law and Criminal Justice. He was a lecturer in Islamic law at the Muslim College of London and also worked as an Arabic translator. He is a barrister and currently runs a law firm in London. His research interests include minority jurisprudence and constitutional law.
